 My name is Richard Greer. I’m a first year Master’s student with an interest in Southern Asia in general but I specialize in Southeast Asian Buddhism. On my own time I study South Asia starting with Vedism and Sanskrit and am moving towards vernacular religions and languages. To meet my interests in the program I will study Thai history, religion and Thai and Shan languages. Beneath it all is an interest in Women and Religion, vernacular and classical cultural relations, and improving interpretations and representations of Southern Asia in the United States.
